Water Damage Technician Lead – Structural Drying Assessment Technician – Chilliwack

Compensation: $30 – $34/hour (full time permanent)

The Job – Structural Drying Assessment Technician

At On Side, Structural Drying Assessment Technicians (SDA Techs) work with the water damage teams, going wherever a burst pipe, blocked drain, sewer backup (yes, sometimes it’s one of those situations) or other water-related disaster calls. Working as a team, SDA Techs use their advanced expertise to dry down structures to get them into a repairable state.

What you bring:

An SDA Tech brings a bunch of abilities to their work, the most important being a ‘get it done!’ attitude.  Additional abilities include:

• 2-5 years industry experience as a Water Damage Technician
• IICRC Water Restoration Technician certification
• Knowledge of the IICRC S500-1999 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration

• Knowledge of structural drying procedures
• Ability to perform structural drying assessments in accordance with IICRC guidelines
• Ability to complete multi-unit structural drying assessments
• Creative problem solving with drying tools and providing dry in place solutions to improve carbon footprint
• Experience with all drying tools (air movers, negative air machines, pressurized drying systems, floor drying systems, dehumidifiers)
• Organized with a good sense of time— you’re rarely late and know where all your tools are
• Maintaining warehouse 5s culture
• Maintaining all equipment and monitor W3 Equipment tracking system

• Physically fit
• A safety-first mindset
• Valid driver’s licence and a clean criminal record (we do check)
• Ability to communicate in English
• Scheduling with insureds/homeowners

Other stuff that will contribute to your success but isn’t required:

• IICRC Applied Structural Drying certificate
• IICRC Commercial Drying Technician certificate
• RIA WLS certification
• Knowledge of 3D Imaging

Past industry experience  that can translate into success as a SDA Tech includes: Water Damage Manager, lead hand, Water Damage Technician.

Of Note

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.
