Datalab Manager

Compensation: $120,000 – $140,000 / year (full-time/permanent)

In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our operational efficiency and decision-making through effective data analysis and management. What you’ll be doing

• Formulate appropriate recommendations after analyzing and interpreting reports produced by actuarial analysts to improve the performance of products and services.
• Manage the evaluation, development and coaching of members of their group to achieve the strategic objectives of the company.
• Manage their team’s activities by organizing, planning and controlling the optimal use of human, financial and material resources according to company strategies and budget planning.
• Contribute to people’s development by being a leader who cares for people, take accountability and drives change.
• Represent the actuarial function in various working groups/committees and act as a point of contact with other business units.
• Provide direction on initiatives for developing, implementing and monitoring compliance with organization’s processes and tools to improve operations effectiveness and performance
• Identify areas of improvement to better manage the team and improve the comprehensiveness of the support you provide.
• Oversee the complex analysis and statistical modeling activities of the team identifying areas for process improvement
• Manage/guide the design and presentation of analytical results and recommend solutions or new strategies
• Ensure integrity and validity of all analytics for the department

What you Bring to the Team

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Strong communication, time management and work organization skills
• Strong skills in workforce management (major asset)
• Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in an analytical and innovative environment, including at least 2 years in management or coaching
• Expert level with MS Office 365
• Ability to work outside of regular business hours periodically, including the ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
